Easter Candy! a studio-licensed elementary piano solo
What’s inside: eighth notes, quarter notes, half notes, and rests. Middle C position. Ending features one 8va measure and two measures 15ma. (two octaves higher.) ABA form.
Who’s it for: Mid-elementary piano students. Also students who can learn quarter notes and 8th notes by syllables, such as ta and ti-ti.
Challenges: There is a pickup measure with two 8th notes. Prepare students for the 8th note rhythms by practicing rote rhythms or improvisations. Moving the hands up at the end requires some practice, but is satisfying.
Capture the excitement of Easter by learning or sight-reading this fun piece! Kids are all about getting Easter candy; and so are the parents who eat the leftovers!
Easter songs are not often played by piano students, but this one is great to have in your collection. What teacher has not had a student come to a lesson in the spring, and there has been no practice the preceding week? Instead of going over and over the same material, challenge them by sight-reading Easter Candy.
Give this piece to an especially fidgety kid! The repeated patterns are easily attained, and singing along is encouraged. Great for young group classes, too!
”Easter Candy!” is a digital download. As a studio license, you may print as many copies as you like for students in your studio. Please do not share with other teachers.
