I Found the Dirty Laundry! - Elem. Piano Solo - studio licensed- 2 levels
Who’s it for: first year students can play the easier version, which centers around middle C. Second year students can play the version in C position.
What’s inside: a few 8th notes, otherwise easy rhythm. Opportunity to add in improvised piano sounds.
Challenges: in the C position version, students cross LH over RH to play a single note - “A”. If students don’t know 8th notes, use the syllables “ta” and “ti-ti” to demonstrate, or teach by rote. Use a loose wrist for the 8th notes.
Kids are delighted by this story of a tiny weiner dog who loves to find dirty laundry! Watson the Dachshund loves to show off her “finds” by dragging them into the living room. Students think it’s hilarious when Watson shows off the “undies” and blushes!
Piano kids have opportunities to add in their own improvised sounds to the piece. Studio and kid-tested, this solo is sure to be a beloved addition to your repertoire.
