Heart Candy! A Humorous, studio-licensed Valentines Elementary Piano Solo
Who’s it for: Level 2 piano kids, or kids who can easily be taught two eighth notes by rote (ti-ti-, ta, ta)
What’s inside: quarters, a few eighths, quarter rests. Notes fit easily in the hands from G below middle C to A above middle C.
Challenges: Right hand thumb starts on D above middle C. The piece is mostly staccato, with a few slurs. Teach the eighth notes by rote, if you like. The three note slurs at the end involve fingers 5, 4, and 2. If the slur is too difficult, have the student play staccato!
Enjoy this humorous, fun, and a bit snarky Valentine tune! Lots of kids like to get heart-shaped conversation candy. Have you noticed how syrupy sweet some of the messages are? Thankfully, there are also some hearts with super cool messages. Explore these with this fun piano solo!
Two backing tracks are provided. One is with vocals, and one without. Use them, or set a rhythm track of your own!
This is a digital download that you may share with any students in your studio. Please do not share with others outside your studio. Thanks:)
