Spring Fever - Is There a Cure?

spring fe·ver/spriNG ˈfēvər/

noun

a feeling of restlessness and excitement felt at the beginning of spring

Spring Fever is a real thing. (At the time of this writing, it's spring in Oklahoma. In the US, that means end-of-school is near!) There is no pill or vaccine that will help. Only one thing I have found that relieves the symptoms -

No-Pressure Fun!

As long as your students have spring fever, why not run with it!

In 2022, after a loooooong season of Covid stuff, I wrote "Spring Fever". My students ate this piece up! At the time, I was teaching in-person group lessons. Each student got on a piano, and enjoyed jamming out and singing with a cool groove: (granted - these guys needed a slower tempo than I would have liked)

I reworked the groove into a cool backing track using my Garage Band app. Find out more here:

"Yellow" - to celebrate synesthesia

The color yellow always reminds me of D Major! To celebrate - I created a piano ensemble chock full of groove and fun:

It's also a piano solo.

Use Part 1 of the ensemble as an elementary piano solo. OR -

check out this intermediate version that I love to play:

Enjoy the end of spring! Let me know if you find a cure for Spring Fever!
