End-of-school-year BURNOUT
Kids are DONE. Truth be told, I kinda feel the same.
What to do during lessons, when we all have what used to be called "spring fever"? (More on that, later.) Here's a roundup of resources that I have used in the past. The purpose of these activities is to have fun, and still learn something!
Much-loved "Rhythm Cups."
I have loved this activity for years, and so have my students. I wish I was more INTENTIONAL about including this resource on a regular basis. "Spring Fever" definitely reminds me to get out the cups (even with online lessons) and have some fun. You can find Wendy Stevens' Rhythm Cups here:
Music History Made Easy
This easy-to-use course has saved me time and calmed by anxiety over lesson planning. Students LOVED to watch the short videos and take the quizzes. I was SHOCKED at how few of my students knew ANYTHING about composers.
Easy, sequential, with quizzes that help students retain the information. I love it so much, I signed up to be an affiliate. (No extra cost to you, by the way.)
I am super excited to continue this course with my students this coming May!
Full Scoop on Chords - Leila Viss
There is sooooo much to love about this course. Even though I have explained chords, triads, etc. - Ms. Leila's course has captivated my students' attention! They really retain what she teaches, and it's fun!
I hope these resources energize your spring teaching! Do you have other resources that you love for spring?
