Benefits of Taking Piano Lessons for Kids

Fine Motor Skill Development

I've been "preaching to the choir" about how kids NEED piano lessons to help them with their fine motor skills. You may have noticed - kids these days - are struggling with fine motor skills and hand strength. What we provide HELPS them more than we can say.

Finding and using all ten fingers, using arm weight to play piano, plus all the games and off-bench activities - all of this translates into HELP for kids with fine motor skills.

Cognitive Development - another reason to take piano lessons

What is happening in a child’s brain as they are working on their piano music? Lots. For starters, we have got: reading notes, playing with both hands, and understanding musical concepts. The brain power that comes from working in this way helps stimulate development in the child.

Discipline + Patience

That's the goal. Learning to practice, break down a piece, solve problems, set goals, and work through challenges.

Creativity

Piano lessons offer so much opportunity for creativity! Composing and improvising should be part of every child’s experience in music lessons.
